Dr. Dan Twogood pays a visit

My brother, Dr. Dan Twogood, was in town this weekend to lecture on his new book. Niece, Tiffany Rhodes, was interested in hearing what he had to say a few months ago, and arranged the meeting at the Sprague Library in Sugarhouse (Salt Lake City).

Afterwards we took him and wife, Willy, to the Kennecott Copper Mine. Still a huge operation!

They came by for a visit and lunch with all the family on Sunday after church, before heading down the road. Good to see you guys! Thanks for sharing your vast knowledge and experience with us! Almost done with the book...very easy reading!

Joshua's Baptism Day

Josh turned 8 in September, and on October 8 he was baptized by his dad in their stake center in Lehi, UT, along with many other children in the stake. During our summer visit with them, they invited us to attend his baptism.

Halie and Josh having lunch together out back after his baptism. I happened to watch this scene unfold...Halie got her plate from inside, then went outside to the play gym to eat. Josh came out a little while later and sat down with her.

There was a sweet moment when Josh came back to where we were sitting in the chapel prior to the service, and first gave Sheila a hug, then Jon, Halie, Lexi, Grandpa, then me. He was so happy that we came, as he was the two other visits we have had with him. Mike and Karen are the best, and Josh is very lucky to have them for his parents.

Sibling reunion October 2011

At Dale and Sue's in Oakley, one very fine early autumn day!

Our talented sister, Susan Buxton, put together a spontaneous sibling gathering this past weekend. The day just happened to fall on Lamar's birthday (Oct. 15), so he and Loralee were remembered somewhat on the occassion. We were treated to a festive fall luncheon of grilled sandwiches with all the trimmings, and cake and ice cream, of course. We then played a few group games and took a few photos in the beautiful outdoors. A perfect day! Thanks, Susan!

September-October 2011

Some of the happenings in September and October....

Neighbor Tim Stobbe got married to Heather Anderson at the Magnolia Reception Center on Sept. 17.

Tim's uncle and I played some background music during the outdoor service. Sheila made sure the music didn't fly away.

All married..Tim and Heather Stobbe!
