More fun with cousins

Sheila and I had most of the grandkids for another evening of fun in the backyard and another park. Camron in the pool.

Let's all run to that fence a mile away! Tyler and Dave the only ones who made it. Hayden on the grass, with Tanner and Halie in the rear.

Sunday with Dave and family

Hayden seems inseparable from his dad. That can't be comfortable! (Dave talking to the Twogood grandparents in CA, unable to make the trip out to see him)

Buxton reunion Idaho

Von and me, his sisters Loralee and Nan, joined up with Von's cousins (descendants of his uncle Joe Buxton,) in Meridian, ID for a couple days. The first day we all divided up to go white water rafting on the Payette River, or floating on the Boise River. We met up afterwards for supper at the oldest cousin's home, Dwayne and Barbara Buxton. Joe Buxton had 10 children, and we met 6 of them. These are two of the girls, Carol and Jolene.

The second day, we took in the fun Idaho Stampede Rodeo in Nampa, ID. 84 of the clan attended together!

Payette River trip

Entering our last class IV rapid, the Slolam. Viv and Von up front, Ann and Max in the middle, Nan and Loralee in the rear with guide, Kevin. Pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

That's Von's foot under the raft, and me getting buried in the rapids.

Oquirrh Mountain Temple Tour

On Von's real birthday, we took Rosie, Tyler, Camron and Halie through the new temple that is in our district, and which we will begin attending after dedication August 23.

Canopy's set up for shade and shelter between temple and tents used for video presentations and reception afterwards.

Camron in the reception tent after the tour.

Rosie and Tyler enjoying water and cookies.

Kids in front of painting in reception tent.

Lunch afterwards at Red Robin. Jon, Alexis and David were able to join us.

Happy big 6-0 Von!

Von's 60th!

We celebrated Von's birthday July 11 with all of our kids and grandkids, and sisters, Nan and Loralee arrived first at the end of his nap. Loralee's husband, Heber, and daughter, Leandra and family also came with them.

Nan and Von

Time for presents. Loralee and Nan started off with fun t-shirts.

Jon brought Von's favorite beverage, in great abundance.

Dave contributed a gift card to a favorite restaurant.

Birthday cake made by David R.'s sister, Jeni. Sheila and I were set to make a much more complicated version, so were grateful Jeni (who is an accomplished cake decorator), had time to do this for Von. His favorite, German chocolate.

Always help available with the candle-blowing. (Camron)

A fun evening with family. We also worked in a few rounds of "Farkle", dice game.
