Introducing my mother, Rose Marie Wright, born 82 years ago today in Charlotte, NC., where I was also born. Here she is about 3. She was rough-house Rosie, and had soft red hair. My daughter Rosie is named after her, and has passed on that pretty hair to grandaughter Kristin.
Mother graduated from Queens College, then for women, in 1948. Her bacheolors degree was in History, and she is an avid reader of all kinds of literature. We four children made many trips to the library, and enjoyed being read to nightly by both mother and dad.
Rosie Twogood, the beautiful bride, Sept. 5, 1948. Married to dad in Charlotte, where they met while he was stationed in the Army Air Corp.
Mother's fun side. She sang in choirs all her life. This was before a program with the Sweet Adolines, barbershop womens chorus.
Mother recently. She and dad have lived in Boulder, Co. and Fresno, Ca., then moved to El Centro where they have been since 1973. She is still active in her Methodist Womens group, and enjoys social activities with friends and neighbors.
