California in February

Von and I arranged to drive to California to visit my parents for a few days. We left Utah on a cold and snowy day after church.

My parents, Don and Rosie Twogood, after having their hair done. 87 and 85 years and still going strong.

One of their flowers in bloom.

A few of dad's projects going...a couple new trees in place of a big one that got removed. Some stones being laid to extend the patio, and bricks outlining the new trees. Out back he has a vegetable garden. We planted green beans and bell peppers, and he has tomatoes harvesting along with the rest of their grapefruit. Dad always has something going on in the yard, whether it's adding, repairing, or maintaining.

Mother spends her days indoors. She still puts together the healthiest meals, and enjoys games and conversation.

It got into the mid 80's, so dad and I both took a swim a couple days, even though the water was still pretty cold! Dad can still do a 1 1/2 somersault off the board!

Von and I took our usual walks in the nearby park, which now has a brick walkway throughout the park.

Most of the ponds are drained for the winter, but their are still plenty of birds in the few puddles that remain.

Mom and dad's house in February....Like early spring.

We visited Jo and Mike on our way home. They have had some repairs done, and painted the trim and fence this new color.

My little sister, Jo...doing great with her weight loss.

We also joined Dale and Sue for lunch at Paradise Bakery in St. George, and had spent the night with them on our way down. A nice winter escape.
