Cece is my lifelong friend in Fresno, where I grew up. We rode bikes, played tennis, swam, went camping together, and played cards. She was also my maid of honor. For the last few years, we have gone to Pismo Beach together with her parents. They had gone every year since Cece was born. Her father died last year, and had his ashes scattered at sea (former Navy man) during our last trip there. She lives with her mother and has had many pets. Sheila is named after her. Sheila is a form of Cecelia. feeding Pedro, her pet tortiose of 50 years Her new kitchen 2 of three doggies, Marty and Frieda
Cece, Von, Halie and Sheila. During our visit to Fresno, we took a side trip Lake Sequoia and the big trees, since Sheila missed out being there during the Twogood reunion in 2003. My family has been to this lake for many years over Labor Day weekend. It is a YMCA youth camp, with swimming, row boating, canoeing, and even sail boating. There are cabins, and a dining hall which provides all meals for those who stay here. Entrance to Kings Canyon NP is just up the road a piece. Grants Grove, Kings Canyon General Grant
Von and I met in 1970, after his mission to England, while I was attending BYU. I just happened to room with his sister, Loralee, who introduced us when he came to visit. Von enlisted in the Air Force where he served a career in aircraft maintenance. I graduated from BYU in Music Ed., then Von and I were married in the Logan Temple, June 1972. We traveled with the Air Force for 10 years until settling down in Kearns. We lived in San Berdoo, CA, were separated a year while he served an unaccompanied tour in Thailand during Vietnam War, then moved to Duluth, MN, Jacksonville, ARK, and Glendale, AZ. Von then served with the Utah Air Guard until his retirement. Our greatest joys have been our 3 children, and now our grandchildren.
I've taught piano since high school, play the organ for church, and we both have had many callings in our LDS Church. I have been working for a house cleaning company, and Von received full military retirement from the Utah Air National Guard in August 2009, when we both became temple workers in the Oquirrh Mountain LDS Temple.
