El Centro, June 2012

On our way home from Pismo, we stopped in on brother Dan and Willy for lunch at Molly's in Apple Valley, then drove on to my parents, Don and Rosie, in El Centro.  Their pool was divine, and the fig tree was producing.  Caught dad picking some in his pajamas early one morning.

Mother and dad preparing breakfast together.  In spite of the occassional earthquakes, they are getting along just fine, and still have friends and a church family to mingle with each week.  They have lived here almost 40 years now.

From El Centro, we journeyed home via Las Vegas, where we spent the night with my sister Jo and her dog, Joker.  We visited with Mike on the way down, who had many stories to tell about life on their mountain property at Snake Creek... which is aptly named since snakes have frequented their property, along with wild turkeys, squirrels, and birds.
